The Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization Division was established at NTI on 24th March 2003. The Division highlighted the need to involve “cured patients” as advocates on TB by their active participation in elimination activities. The division has a scientific gallery which has rich repository of general information on TB, important milestones in the evolution of the programme and achievements of the institute both in the past and in the present have been displayed. The Division plays a key role in sensitizing the nursing, paramedical, life sciences and medical students on TB and NTEP.
Functions:
To disseminate
- The general information on TB
- The evolution of the programme,
- Research conducted by NTI and achievements of the Institute since its inception to the general public, para-medical students etc.
Activities:
- The division has been regularly conducting one-day orientation/sensitization training about TB and NTEP for medical, paramedical and life science students both in physical and virtual mode.
- Faculty and staff of ACSM division visits the institutions as Resource person to sensitize about TB.
- Organize World TB Day activities like CME, Quiz Competition, Essay Competition, Rallies etc.
- Sensitization of general public using Mass Media and Social Media
- The division follows instructions contained in circulars received from Ministry to circulars to observe certain important days like Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas.
